Welcome to Taste Istanbul. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Taste Istanbul mobile application ("the App") published on the Apple App Store. By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

Taste Istanbul is a curated culinary guide to the city of Istanbul. The App provides editorial content — including walking food tours, district guides, food category overviews, and venue listings — together with photography, addresses, approximate locations, and descriptive text. The App does not facilitate reservations, payments, deliveries, or any commercial transaction with the venues featured.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you meet this age requirement. The App is intended for general audiences and contains no adult content. References to alcohol — for example to meyhanes and rakı culture — are editorial and contextual only.

3. Editorial content

We curate and write the App's editorial content based on independent research and our own experience of the city. We strive for accuracy but make no warranty that:

Restaurants close, change ownership, and rotate their menus. Please verify operating hours and confirm reservations directly with each venue before visiting. Venue inclusion is at our editorial discretion and does not represent an endorsement, partnership, or sponsorship unless a "Sponsored" badge is explicitly displayed.

4. Photography

Venue and tour photography is fetched on demand from Google's Place Photos API and served by Google's image CDN. We do not own these photographs. Each photograph is the property of its original photographer or the establishment that submitted it to Google. Display inside the App is permitted under Google's Places API terms; the rights to each image otherwise remain with their respective owners.

5. Licence to use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

All editorial text, the curated tour selection, the App's name, logo, branding, design, layout, and code are owned by Taste Istanbul and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You receive no transfer of ownership; only the limited licence described above.

7. User-generated content

Within the App you may "favourite" tours, venues, and stops. This data is stored only on your device. You do not submit any content to us, and there is no public profile or social-feed component in the App. We do not host, moderate, or display any user-generated content from one user to another.

8. Maps, navigation, and external links

Map views are provided via Apple MapKit and are illustrative only. Tapping "Get Directions" opens the Apple Maps app, which is operated by Apple under its own terms of service. We are not responsible for routing, traffic, or any consequence of following directions provided by third-party maps.

9. Offline downloads

You may choose to download a tour for offline use. Downloads are stored in the App's sandboxed Documents directory on your device. Downloaded content is a snapshot in time and may become outdated. We retain no copy of what you have downloaded; deleting the App removes all offline data.

10. Health, allergens, and safety

The App is not a medical or food-safety resource. We do not list ingredients, allergens, or nutritional information. If you have a food allergy, dietary restriction, or health condition, please contact venues directly to confirm suitability before consuming any food or beverage. You assume all risk associated with eating, drinking, or visiting the venues described in the App.

11. No warranty; limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including without limitation any harm caused by following editorial recommendations or relying on venue information.

12. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update the App, add or remove tours, venues, and content, and modify these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

Your licence under these Terms terminates automatically if you fail to comply with them. On termination you must stop using the App and delete it from your devices. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will survive.

14. Apple-specific terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Taste Istanbul, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the App's purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Istanbul shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
